Luka Dončić is a Slovenian professional basketball player that plays for the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA.
Before joining the youth academy of Real Madrid, he played for Union Olimpija as a youth player in Ljubljana where he was born. At the age of 16, he made his senior team debut for the academy in 2015, becoming the club’s youngest player ever.
Two years later, Luka led Madrid to the 2018 EuroLeague championship, taking home MVP awards for both the Final Four and the EuroLeague.
Luka won back-to-back EuroLeague Rising Star and ACB Best Young Player honors in addition to being voted the ACB MVP. He was chosen for the EuroLeague 2010–20 All-Decade Team as well.
In 2018 draft, Dončić was selected by Dallas Mavericks. He received the consensus NBA All-Rookie First Team honor and was named Rookie of the Year for the 2018–19 campaign.
He was even chosen to play in the NBA All-Star game and was named to the All-NBA First Team just during his sophomore season. Moreover, he has the most triple-doubles in Maverick’s history.

- Like many of the young talents that have recently entered the NBA, Luka is also a huge fan of LeBron James. After his first game against LeBron, he reportedly waited outside the Lakers’ locker room to ask for LeBron’s signing on his jersey. Following his idol’s pace, Luka became the second- player ever to record a 40 point triple-double before the age of 21 after LeBron.
